Yon Labs is a private industrial research lab whose mission is to explore applications of next generation computing and information technologies.

We believe there is a need to bridge the gap between the industry and the academia; and our ambition is to help with this. We apply and promote innovative research findings within the industry to facilitate solving of everyday's problems and help in addressing business needs.

As an industry we are faced with many challanges - one of them is complexity of software and software development. We continuously struggle to develop good software on time and on budget. Yon Labs sees huge potential in automatization of software development tasks. Therefore, our research projects are centered around automated software engineering, particularly various code analysis techniques to support program validation, verification and optimization.

We have opted for a private model so that Yon Labs can take an entrepreneurial approach to research projects, without the time consuming approval cycles, intellectual property constraints and overhead of conventional R&D labs.

Our present research projects include:

• automated verification and improvment of software by detection of security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, code defects and bad practices,
• architectural, design and code patterns and anti-patterns for security, performance and overall quality of software,
• automated optimization of JVM-based applications by parallelization of Java bytecode based on the support of detailed static code analysis.
